Prick! Goes the Scorpion’s Tale
Okay, I have to say this now. This was one of the great works by Terrance Zdunich and Darren Lynn Bousman. It was very direct, and in your face, which was different from what I was honestly expecting. I was going into the Devil’s Carnival expecting to see something like Repo, but the twist from it was actually rather stunning. Especially with the way the people were. Emilie Autumn was beautiful as the Painted Doll, Terrance was incredible as Lucifer, and the entirety of the movie had a way of capturing me. I still feel so amazed that I got to meet Terrance and Darren, and miss Jinx, and have Darren take my pic to send to Emilie, with her poster. I felt privileged to be there. The take on Aesop’s fables was interesting and fascinating. I recognized the first two easily enough, even without the point to them, though the last was not a Fable I was familiar with.
Needless to say, I’m utterly excited to see the second Episode of the Devil’s Carnival. I’ll be listening to my numbered signed Soundtrack of the Devil’s Carnival, singing some of the songs, and I look so much forwards to seeing just what these two amazing men keep coming up with!
